The Wonderul Finds at Trader Joe's

My adventure that will lead you to your own

Gluten Free, Vegan, helpful shopping lists

The vegetarian leaf symbol

Grocery shopping should never be a chore, but with a regulated shopping list it sure can be. Whether you buy strictly fat free foods or vegetarian foods, Trader Joe’s makes the shopping experience less dreadful with their helpful, handy product lists.

The product lists are available online or in store and are made to make specific shopping ways easier.

There are seven shopping lists available: no gluten, vegan, vegetarian, fat free, quick meal, Kosher and low sodium. Each category has a symbol that can clearly be identified on the bottom of most Trader Joe’s products to help shoppers easily find the listed products.

Each list is broken up into several categories of the store and shows which products can be found in each section of the store. For example, the “Frozen” section of the gluten free list will show the shopper which foods are free of gluten in the frozen section.

Gluten free, vegan and Kosher symbols

The no gluten list is the most popular list accessed and asked for at Trader Joe’s. It is ideal for people who cannot tolerate or are allergic to the wheat protein.  Most gluten free products have a small “g” symbol.

The vegan-shopping list is a very popular list as well. It is ideal for people who do not include any animal products in their diets. Most vegan products have a small “V” symbol.

The vegetarian-shopping list is ideal for people who do not include any animal products in their diets with an exception to dairy and eggs. Most vegetarian products have a small symbol resembling a three-leaf clover.

The fat free shopping list is ideal for people who are looking to reduce their fat intake by consuming foods with less than .5 grams of fat. Most fat free products have a small “Ff” symbol.

The quick meal shopping list is ideal for people looking for food on the go or easily prepared meals for work. Each meal on the list includes foods from two or more food groups and can be prepared in less than 15 minutes, no matter what mode of cooking is used. Most quick meal items have a small television symbol.

The Kosher shopping list is ideal for people keeping Kosher. The printable list not only includes Kosher products, but also includes many of the different Kosher symbols found on TJ’s packages. Most Kosher products have a “K” or “U” symbol.

The low sodium shopping list is ideal or people looking for foods with 140 mg of sodium or less per serving. Most low sodium products have a salt shaker symbol.

Although many products fall into the above listable categories, everything may not be noted. It is very important to read ingredient labels and packages.

Next week, I will share another one of my wonderful finds. Until then, go on ahead to TJ’s, and let your adventure begin.
